The Grand Deception is an immersive game of secrets, suspicion, and sabotage.
Tensions will rise. And you will begin to ask yourself…who can you really trust?
The Game Begins
From the moment you arrive, you will be fully immersed in The Grand Deception.
After time to mingle with a glass of fizz, you will be whisked away individually to answer a very important question:
Do you want to play the game as a faithful, or sabotage every step to secure a win as a traitor?
Your host will then formally welcome your group to the game, and the selection process will take place.
Once your fate is sealed, you will complete your first mission and enter your first roundtable discussion.
As the night progresses, the traitors will convene in secret, and the first murder will take place. You might want to sleep with one eye open…
Your Fate Unfolds
Throughout the game, you will work as a team to complete exciting missions, which can be tailored to your groups’ specific preferences.
Observe every hidden glance and whispered conversation, and think very carefully about every move you make.
Roundtable discussions will take place after each activity, with banishments and murders making you question everything you know about the people around you.
Oh, and don’t worry – both banished AND murdered players continue to participate in every mission. They may not be able to vote, but that doesn’t mean they can’t influence what happens next…
The Final Showdown
The experience concludes with an epic firepit showdown, with a live singer to set the tone.
True intentions will be revealed as the final players vote to continue banishing players, or end the game.
Then, no matter your allegiance, it’s time to unwind and celebrate with your fellow players. You may need to spend some time mending broken bridges too…
The next morning, with the game complete, you can enjoy a relaxing breakfast before bidding goodbye to a truly unforgettable getaway.
What’s Included
The standard inclusions are:
Exclusive hire of Gilmerton House, including the grounds;
Two or three nights accommodation in 10 bedrooms (sleeping 20 guests);

What you need to know about The Grand Deception experience…
The minimum number of participants is 10.
The maximum number of players is 20.
The Grand Deception is a closed group experience. In order to participate, you must book a minimum of 10 spaces for your date to go ahead.
You will be interviewed by your host prior to selection to discuss the role you want to play in the game. The group will then be gathered and blindfolded for the selection of the traitors.
The game continues! Banished and murdered players cannot take part in the roundtable discussions or vote during future banishments, but they can still take part in every mission and activity.
